...Ascension...
This summer has been extremely hard. A lot of emotions... a very sad sad time. Two of our fellow artists... our dear friends... were taken from us and dealing with their loss has not been easy for those left behind. A wise artist among us suggested we create some "Blue Faeries" in memory of our friends to help ease some of our grief and show our respects.
I tried to harness what all I was feeling and how I felt about death.
The faerie that I have created represents the change I feel happens once we release the tethers that bind us earthbound... the veil lifts from our mortal eyes and we can truely see for the first time. The colors from our mortal world dull in comparison to the rich, bright, never fading colors of Heaven. As we look upon them with wonder for the first time, our dull ("blue") colors wash away,
and are replaced anew.

Ascension's details....
From the tip of her toe to her finger tips, she measures approx. 10", with base she is approx. 11". Her outfit is made of silk gauze and is permanently set so it is extremely hard and does not move. Her hair is a mixture of pastel blue and light reddish-brown Tibetan Mohair.
Ascension is made from polymer clay over a wire armature and is blushed with professional oil paints to accent all of her beautiful features. Her pale eyes are hand painted with multiple shades of blue. Her wings were created with blue iridescent cellophane over a wire armature and are accented with microbeads. They are Very gently posable and removeable.
Ascension's base is 5" by 7" and is made from dried flowers, real pebbles, and moss. When Ascension is on her base, the entire piece measures 11" high x 8" wide x 11" long. She is removeable from her base for safer shipping, but does not stand alone without her base.
As with all of my sculptures, no molds whatsoever were used to create or made from Ascension. She is a complete original handsculpted faerie and will never be duplicated. I make sure to bake my work according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure a strong sculpture. She comes to you signed, dated and numbered along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
