"It is hard enough for a parent to watch one child go through the Morfae, but to have twins go through it together? Kessa and Keyla's parents had spent a lot of time in the nursery these past two moons. So much so that the elder caretakers actually had to force them to get out and enjoy a sunrise or two. When the cocoons finally started to shake and sway, the twins' parents nearly jumped out of their own skins. Finally... Kessa and Keyla were emerging."
Excerpt from "Tales From Glittering Glen" series by C.F. Auld

Glittering Glen is very pleased to present the OOAK handsculpted faerie twins... Kessa & Keyla.

"They all go through it. It happens to them all. It's a good thing... really." That is what every Faerie mom tells herself... and each other... as they watch their precious Faelings bursting from their cocoons. The urge to help is overwhelming, but they must do it on their own.

Wait... it has just occured to me. Did you know that Glittering Glen faeries are born wingless? It's True!! They appear like tiny humans (called "Faebles") completely without wings until they are.... ah alas, I am no story teller. Perhaps you should hear the tale from the one to whom it was told.....

Journal Entry Five: A Discussion On Morfae by C.F. Auld

It has been a hard two moons on everyone and now, for this special family of very rare twin Faes, the waiting is finally over. Their Faebles are almost true Faeries. And as with most sets of twins, one is always just a lil earlier than the other. But not for long, Keyla is starting to push on her cocoon too.

There will be much celebrating tonight once they both are free of the cocoons that held them while their wings emerged. They are now full fledged Faeries with strong wings and will no longer be earth bound. The sky will be theirs.... as soon as they finish "hatching" that is.

Kessa & Keyla are each approx. 8" from head to toe if they were standing. No molds whatsoever were used to create these girls, they are complete original handsculpted faeries and will never be duplicated. Kessa & Keyla are made from polymer clay over a wire armatures and are blushed with professional oil paints. Their hair is fiery red Tibetan Mohair still wet from the cocoon. Their wings are shades of blue iridescent cellophane. One of Kessa's wings are gently poseable but is not removeable.

Due to their design, Kessa & Keyla are not removeable from their base or cocoons. Every detail of these girls have been fully sculpted. They were completely sculpted before being placed inside their cocoons, nothing was skipped just because it wasn't going to show. In fact, if you look closely at Keyla's cocoon you can see her inside. You might even be able to see her slight frown as she wakes up. Both girls have been treated with a faux water effect to appear "wet". They will come to you signed, dated and numbered along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity which also doubles as a fridge magnet.

The twin's base is 12"L x 9"W x 13H" and is handsculpted from clay over a very strong armature, is handpainted, with just a touch of moss... for good measure...
