HEY.... Is that a Faerie on your shoulder?!?!? Whyyyyy Yes... yes it IS a Faerie on my shoulder!! Ailsa is the newest Shoulder FaerieTM from Glittering Glen. What's a Shoulder FaerieTM?!? I am soooo glad you asked that :) A Shoulder FaerieTM is an exciting new type of faerie series here at Glittering Glen. These lil girls do Not like to be left at home in a curio cabinet! (They get a lil miffed... confinement issues... not a pretty sight) They are designed to ride on your shoulder and see all there is to see right along with you. Why leave your beloved faeries at Home when you can take them to the mall, Parties, Faerie Festivals, Ren Faires .. oh heck Walmart.. why not??!! They even make wonderful "just because" gifts or for someone who may be feeling down and needs some cheering up!! We debuted some of these at FaerieCon in October and wore them around all weekend... they were Very Secure, did Great and were a Big Hit!!
Ailsa sits in a relaxed position holding onto your shoulder as she looks out at the passerbys. She measures approx. 7" from the tips of her tiny toes to the top of her head (if she were standing). Ailsa's arms and legs are *gently* poseable to custom fit on your shoulder. Of course if you prefer, she could make a lovely shelf sitter faerie. But, I'd wear her around the house once in a while just to make her happy!!
She is designed to ride securely with no damage to your clothing at all!!

No molds whatsoever were used to create Ailsa, she is a completely original one of a kind faerie and will never be duplicated. She is sculpted from polymer clay over a wire armature with extra special attention to details right down to tiny fingernails and skin creases. She has been blushed and painted with professional paints and sealed for extra protection. Her eyes are handpainted as well as her delicate facial markings. Her rusty orange hair is Tibetan Mohair and her leafy wings are in earthy shades of iridescent cellophane. Her green outfit resembles moss with some "leather" arm wraps (it's ribbon, but shhh... she doesn't know that) and some faerie sparklies for good measure. Ailsa has two tiny hair combs made from faux berry branches with the berries left on for decoration as well as two feathers. Her top is removable right now. If you would like me to make it permanent let me know. She has been signed and numbered. A signed Certificate of Authenticity (which also doubles as a handy dandy fridge magnet) is also available upon request.
